If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands but your phone only displays one Wi-Fi name, follow these steps to separate the SSID for each band:
- Access Wireless Settings: Find the "Wireless Settings" page in your router's configuration interface. The method to access this page is usually indicated on a label on the back of the router.
- Change 2.4GHz SSID: Navigate to the 2.4GHz settings page. Change the Wi-Fi name (SSID) to "xxx-2.4G" and save the changes.
- Change 5GHz SSID: Proceed to the 5GHz settings page. Change the Wi-Fi name (SSID) to "xxx-5G" and save the changes.
After renaming, you will see two separate Wi-Fi names "xxx-2.4G" and "xxx-5G" on your phone's Wi-Fi search page.
Note:
- Since the Wi-Fi name has been altered, all devices connected to this router will need to reconnect. If the password remains the same, you can continue using the original password.
- These steps are general guidelines. Configuration steps might vary for different router brands. If needed, consult your router vendor for specific instructions.
